SeaWorld San Antonio Day 1, feeding Dolphins and Shamu

The morning after the wedding, we drove from Austin to San Antonio early in the morning to arrive at SeaWorld when the park opened at 10am.

The kids were fast asleep when I got up to take a shower! They quickly woke up when we mentioned we would see dolphins and whales today!

Walking to the entrance of SeaWorld from the parking lot. It was a lot different than Disney World! There is no one telling you where to park and there is no tram to ride to the entrance of the park.

Ready for lots of fun!

The entrance!

We bought fish to feed the dolphins! The kids loved it. They threw the fish into the dolphins' mouths because they were afraid the dolphins would bite them! :)

This dolphin wanted more food!!

Holding the fish out for the dolphin to see that we had food!

The dolphins didn't like it when you were out of food! They "yelled" at us by squealing!

Clair was already thirsty! That's probably because it was already 95*!!

On our way to see the sharks and fish!

We saw a scuba diver cleaning one tank.

We didn't find the aquarium that much fun, as we are spoiled with our Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha!

Sesame Street Bay of Play was recently added to Sea World Texas. The kids really enjoyed this park of the park. It had lots of kid friendly rides and a little spray park inside it!

Samantha, Alden, & I stood in line for Shamu's Express roller coaster, but it broke down while we were in line.

We decided to jump out of line and I took all 3 kids on Grover's Round Up Carousel ride.

Then we ran into a few characters! Alden got to meet Grover.

Samantha's favorites - Abby Cadabby & Zoe! We tried to get Clair in these pictures, but she was once again - afraid of the characters, just like Disney World!

They then ran to Cookie Monster!

Rosita & Count!

LUNCH @ Shamu's Smokehouse! The food was wonderful!

Waiting to watch Shamu!

Clair didn't want to sit still at all! She was very squirmy and loud! It was very hot to try to hold her too!

Awesome trick! All 3 jumped at once! The show wasn't as good as when Doug & I were younger, as the trainers would rode on the whales and did more dangerous tricks. However, since we were at Sea World last (over 10 years ago), a trainer was actually killed doing a trick with a killer whale.

Front flip and Back flip together!

Waving goodbye to us!

After Shamu, we went to watch the AZUL show! It was similar to a circ de soleil show! It was a magical show with beluga whales, Pacific white-sided dolphins, colorful birds, and acrobatic performers.
The kids loved it! It was very fun to watch.

Samantha thought Auntie Debra should get this as a new paint job on her "bug"! :)

We saw the penguins, but they were all asleep because they keep them on Antarctica time, which means they are only awake for a few hours a day right now.

Flamingos and ducks

Alden, Samantha, & I went on Journey To Atlantis 2 times during our trip!

Samantha, Alden, & I stood in line for a LONG time the 1st time! But they feel it was worth it!

It has a huge drop at the end and we got soaked! But it felt good in the HOT Texas sun!

These people knew they were going to get wet by standing there!

Clair had had it! She was out!

We left SeaWorld right before dinner and drove to Logan's Roadhouse (one of my dad's favorite places to eat - EVER). So, I took this photo to make him jealous! After dinner, we got ice cream from McDonald's for dessert and then went back to the hotel and went to sleep because we knew we would have another big day at SeaWorld the next day!
