Don't look at the 2 comments posted about our Easter. I think one of them has a virus connected to it!!!!

Great Grandma Lila read Samantha a new book that she got for Easter.

Easter was a lot of fun this year. Samantha was at a good age for egg hunting (eventhough, I'm sure that next year will be even better because she might understand that she is racing other kids to get the eggs). We did two public egg hunts this year. On Saturday morning, Samantha, Alden & I headed down to Humboldt and Doug came down later. My dad and my cousin Kayla helped us out at the Humboldt Egg Hunt and the Pawnee City egg hunt. She got 6 eggs in Humboldt and Alden got 1 egg. Then, she got 7 eggs in Pawnee City (with a little help from Kayla). She was very excited about taking the eggs home! The Pawnee City hunt gave her a $1 coin for her yellow egg and $ .25 (cents) for her green eggs.
On Easter morning, the Easter Bunny had come and the Alden & Samantha got their Easter baskets. Alden got a "Leo" from the Little Einsteins (mainly to chew on so that he doesn't chew on Samantha's "June & Annie" dolls from the Little Einsteins), some pacifiers, baby food, some "Brightlings" toys and a jumper he can wear this summer. Samantha got some My Little Ponies, fruit snacks, color book, The Bee Movie, and a dress for summer.
Alden's Easter basket from my parents was in a dump truck (and he fit in it!). It had clothes, baby food, a hedgehog and a musical fish bowl. Samantha's Easter basket was in play suitcases with princesses on them. She got a frog dressed up like the Easter bunny, clothes, and some Little People Easter toys.

We went to church in Pawnee City with my grandma Farmer and then headed to grandma's house for Easter dinner. After dinner, the little kids had an egg hunt in the back yard. After the egg hunt, we decided to head for Plattsmouth and give the kids a nap in the van.

When we got to Plattsmouth the Easter Bunny (Uncle "Dr." Tom--was Samantha says-- was the Easter bunny) greeted us at the door. Tom used to dress up as the Easter bunny with Doug and his cousins were little. Shayle also greeted us at the door and Samantha & Shayle went on an egg hunt. There were lots of eggs filled with candy and money around the house. Auntie Debra gave Samantha a bubble blower and gave Alden a chocolate duck (because she calls him "duckling"). Doug's parents gave Alden a duck that qucks and an outfit for summer and Samantha got a bunny that giggles, a shirt and some books. Great Grandma & Great Grandpa McKnight got Samantha a HUGE Stuffed bunny, some M&Ms and a slinky. Alden got a sand bucket and little duck that quacks.

St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick's Day wasn't very eventful this year. We had to stay home and get the house ready so that we could get the ceiling in our living room re-taped and mudded. Doug's parents came over and helped move furniture and wrangle the kids. I had a MOPS meeting and they served Corned Beef and Cabbage and Potatoes. (Yuck!)

Oops

Here's one more picture from the Goldust Wedding. This is Doug's cousin Sara Weekly and she is always a big help at family gatherings! She held Alden for a few hours and fed him at the wedding. Thanks Sara!

Happy Easter!

These are pictures of Alden & Samantha, both at 5 months. We got then taken at the same place. You can tell how much bigger Samantha was at this age and how much more hair Alden has at this age!
Alden - 5 months (March 2008)
Samantha - 5 months (April 2006)

Our lives were crazy last week as we had to vacate our house for a contractor to finish some work on our house. We stayed with my parents in Humboldt and Doug stayed with his parents in Plattsmouth. I haven't had much time to go through our Easter pictures or to post much on the blog for a while. Hopefully this week, we'll all get settled back in and get our house back to normal again and then I will put some of our Easter pictures on the blog again!

Doug's cousin Dustin McKnight got married in Columbia, MO to Goldie (that's where the "Gold" "Dust" comes from). Early on Saturday morning, Doug, Debbie, Sam, Alden & I got in the van and drove to Columbia. Samantha was very entertained by the DVD player in the van and Alden slept most of the way down (mainly because I got him up at 5am that morning so that he would sleep later!). We got to Columbia and checked into our hotel and then got dressed for the wedding and then headed over to the church for a McKnight family picture. (It was the first time all the grandkids and such had been together for quite some time!)

The wedding was very pretty. Doug video taped the wedding/reception, so luckily I had a lot of people to help with the kids. The reception was a lot of fun. Samantha was on the dance floor the WHOLE night! She had alot of fun dancing with Jamie, Jodi, Greg, Eric, Tom, Alex, Curtis, Great-Grandpa, Sara, and Doug & I! (Samantha & Doug had been practicing dancing by listening to their iTunes library at home.) Samantha was very excited the whole week about going to the wedding. She woke up on Friday morning (the day before the wedding) and said "Go to wedding, mom!".

Alden slept on various people throughout the whole night. Sara Weekly held him at the beginning and Grandma Sandy held him the rest of the time. He finally woke up at about 10pm, which made for a great night of sleep for all of us! :)

Best Friends

We got pictures taken of Samantha and Alexa with their matching dresses and bunnies that they built at Build-A-Bear. We went to see them last weekend and they really have fun when they get together!

A Trip to Fremont...

Uncle (Dr.) Tom & Alden
Samantha poses with Alden & Tom

We went to Fremont on Wednesday to see Uncle (Dr.) Tom for Alden's 4 month checkup. (He was actually closer to 5 months old because we had to postpone the visit due to snow and freezing cold temperatures!) He weighed in at 12 lbs 1 oz and was 25 inches long. He is in the 25th percentile for weight and 75th for height. (That's tiny compared to Samantha's 4 month checkup-she was 14 lbs 7 oz!) He got 5 shots! Ouch!

Samantha knew that Alden had to get shots, and so she kept saying "Albo get shots", and "Albo broke". But, now she says "Uncle Tom fixed Albo!"

Answer:

The person in the picture was Doug's dad- Jim. Alden's side profile really looks like Jim. We couldn't get a picture from the right angle to show it though.
