Zoo Church

Posing next to the gorrila statues again.

Doug smiling with the kids under the sharks.

In the aquarium, next to where the sea turtle usually hides, but we couldn't find him that day.

Daddy-educating the kids about fish.

Smiling with the sharks.

We stood Alden next to the penguin so we could measure his height during future visits to the zoo.

We went to the zoo last Sunday and on Saturday evening, we jokingly told Auntie Debra that we were going to "zoo church". We were going in the morning when the zoo wasn't so busy, during church. And Samantha heard us tell Debra that and woke up on Sunday morning and said "I wanna go to zoo church." One more indication that we need to start watching what we say around her!

It was little chilly. We weren't prepared for the cool breeze and the 47 degree weather for the zoo, as we had saw the high was supposed to be 79 degrees, not thinking that it would be reached at 3pm or so. We spent more of the time at this zoo visit inside. We did the aquarium first and I held Alden and his little legs and arms just kicked and kicked when we looked at the penguins! He kind of looked like a penguin swimming! We saw the gorillas next and liked watching the orangutans swing from vine to vine and one of them even starting playing with us and swung right on into the glass at us. We also saw the Tigers and Lions and the Giraffes and the Seals.

A Visit from Dawson

Debra's good friend Dawson came up from Dallas for a few days to help with a church service, and he came down to Plattsmouth for dinner at Jim & Sandy's house last Friday night. He loves the kids, so its really fun to have him around. He read books to Samantha and played with her. He even got the fun task of sitting next to her at dinner! Yikes! We'll see him again in a few weeks when we go to Dallas for Debra's graduation.

Helping Dad

Counting Teeth

Alden's 1st trip to the dentist.

Alden & Daddy

Samantha sitting in the chair too.

Smiling after her exam!

Samantha holding the suction while Daddy cleans my teeth.

Last Thursday, Doug cleaned my teeth and the kids went along too. Samantha helped RaeLynn assist Doug is cleaning my teeth by using the suction hose. She actually did a good job. She held it still while Doug cleaned off his instruments and actually put it in my mouth when he needed suction for my mouth. Whenever Doug goes back to work after lunch, Samantha always wants to go with him to work. She says "I wanna look at teeth too!"

Alden sat in the Dentist chair for the 1st time. He seemed to really enjoy it, as he couldn't quit smiling! Samantha also sat in the chair and she actually let Doug count her teeth and use a mirror in her mouth.

Oh, and by the way....I had NO cavities! Yeah! :)

Happy Birthday Doug

We celebrated Doug's birthday by going out to eat with his parents to Carlos O'Kelly's in Bellevue and then we got an all chocolate ice cream cake from Dairy Queen for him.

Arcade Fun

Kathy & Sam smile with all the the tickets they won!

Nathan & Doug shoot some creepy zombies

Last Saturday we went to Dave & Busters in Omaha with our friends Kathy & Nathan. The boys had to play some games before we left and Kathy gave her arcade money to Samantha. The boys had a good time shooting zombies and Samantha won a ton of tickets playing a game that we didn't even understand! She ended up getting a Tinkerbell dry erase board and a bouncy ball.

Happy Birthday Great Grandma

Great-Grandma Lila, Lois & Samantha

On Sunday, April 6th, we went to Omaha to Debra's church because she was doing the sermon. Afterward, we went to Olive Garden for lunch for Great-Grandma Lila's birthday and her sister Lois. Aunt Debbie & Uncle Scott, Unlce Tom, Aunt Jodi, Auntie Debra, Uncle Greg, Jamie, Grandpa & Grandma McKnight, and Great-Grandma & Great-Grandpa McKnight, and Lois were all there. It was quite the party.

We're going to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo....

Our 1st stop was the Zebras, but Samantha wouldn't get out of the stoller!

Smiling next to some BIG gorillas!

Alden & I - he was enjoying his 1st trip to the zoo (and being out of the car seat/stroller).

Posing with the Gorilla Statues-a regular photo spot for us!

Auntie Debra gets in on the photo opp!

Auntie Debra teaching Samantha about Orangutans.

Last Friday (when it was much, much warmer than today, Auntie Debra and I took the kids to the zoo. It was Alden's 1st trip to the zoo! Samantha had a blast. She was afraid of the BIG animals, but with Auntie Debra's help, she warmed up to them as the afternoon went on. We saw the Zebras, Giraffes, Seals, Gorillas, Orangutans, Lions, Tigers, and Penguins. Samantha really liked the Seals and Penguins the best. Alden was just happy to be outside. Today, Samantha said "I go to the Zoo," but it was snowing, so we will have to postpone the next trip until their is nicer weather here.

Alden is famous!!!!!

One of the shelves at the Picture People!

Alden--looking at himself!

Last Tuesday, Doug, Samantha, Alden, "uncle" Chris & I went to Omaha to the Picture People to get a family picture taken for my mom and dad for Mother's/Father's Day (don't worry they already know about the picture--but they aren't going to see them until Mother's Day). When we walked in, we saw 4 GIANT pictures of Alden on the shelf. I took Alden & Samantha in for their Easter pictures a couple weeks ago and they liked a picture, so much they put it on display to show off the different frames they have to offer.
