We went to Mickey's Not So Scary Hallowen Party on Thursday night. We all wore costumes. Samantha was Cinderella, Alden & Doug were pirates and I was a Wench (or, as Samantha called me "A Pirate's Friend" - because we didn't want her to say Wench. As you can see by the dark clouds in the sky behind us on the tram as we rode into the Magic Kingdom, the weather was horrible that night. We got to the park at about 6:00 and we stayed dry until about 7:00pm and that was it! We went to the see the princesses in ToonTown, but as we were waiting in line it started to rain really hard. Luckily, it was 7:00, so the line started moving, and that meant that we would be inside the building soon. Samantha met Sleeping Beauty and the Prince and Cinderella and Prince Charming. The pictures we took there were about the last ones we took that whole evening.
It rained so hard that we didn't want to get our camera (especially since we were "borrowing" it from Best Buy) out and chance that it might get water damaged. We put on our ponchos and walked around the rest of the night in the rain. Samantha and I went through the Trick-or-Treat areas that Disney set up, and Doug and Alden stayed dry under some buildings and trees. Alden slept most of the evening because he was in the stroller where it was very dry. Samantha and I even got so brave that we went on Dumbo as it started to stop raining, but right as we got on the ride, it started to poor again! We decided to ride Cinderella's Carousel after Dumbo, because it was covered. Doug and Alden went inside a restaurant while we rode rides in the rain. Next, we walked toward Cinderella's pumkin/carriage photo shoot. Alden & Doug went to watch the fireworks from a good spot, while Sam & I stood in line for the picture. We don't have any pictures from our camera, because it was still raining, so you'll have to see the professional ones when we get the CD.
After the fireworks and the photo shoot, we went to Adventure Land and we got our picture taken by the Pirates of the Carribean by a disney photographer. And we found Jasmine and Alladin and Samantha hadn't gotten a picture with Jasmine yet, so I waited in line with Sam & Alden and Doug got a spot for the late parade. We all watched the parade in amazement, because it was so much different than the regular every day Disney parade! There was a lot of scary stuff in it and at one point some "grave diggers" danced with shovels and scared us all! It was really need to see all the regular Disney characters like Mickey and Pluto, etc dressed up in costumes. At the end, there was tons of candy given out! After the parade, it was time for us to leave. It was almost 11:15 when the parade got over, so we headed towards the front of the park. We decided to get Sam & Alden's "Mickey Ears" hats from the store that used to be called the "Mad Hatter" when Doug & I were little. They got their names on the back and Sam wore hers to car, while Alden still wouldn't keep a hat on his head! We finally got back to the resort at about 1:30am and we had breakfast reservations at 8:15am at Animal Kingdom, so it was a VERY short night!
