Clair's 1st Trip in the Doodlebug!

Clair was not as lucky as Samantha & Alden were when they were 6 months old! They got to ride in the Doodlebug (bike trailer) when they were babies. Clair had to wait until this year for her inaugaral trip! Doug took Clair for a bike ride while I was at church with Samantha and Alden working on cleaning our Sunday School rooms.

Clair loved her new Bike Helmet! She put it on at the house and didn't want to take it off before she got in her car seat!

All buckled in and ready to ride! Doug said that she talked to and squealed at puppies on the bike trail! She left her helmet on the whole time they were riding and she never feel asleep!

They stopped for a quick break at Aksarben village. There was a farmer's market going on there, so they walked around a little bit (Doug wished he would have had some cash with him so he could get a peach or some beef jerky, but he only had credit cards with him!) and then went to the water area.

Clair didn't want to get wet. She stood this far away and just stared at the water. Maybe she knew she's not supposed to get wet without a swimsuit on! After this, she did not want to get back into the doodlebug! But, eventually she did! Overall, she had a great time with daddy and the doodlebug!

Lance's Bike shop, Mellow Johnny's

On Saturday, after a long day on Friday, Clair woke Michelle up bright and early. So we got an early start on the days activities. We were staying downtown and were about 8 blocks from Mellow Johnny's Lance Armstrong's Bike shop.

The kids with some very expensive bikes in the basement of the shop. There is a huge training area in the basement for classes. They also have the cleanest bathroom I have ever seen. The number of riders coming and going was crazy. The kids had lots of fun looking at all the different jerseys on the walls. Sam was glad to see a polka dot one.

Riding Bikes

On a nice warm day this spring we went out to Doug's Parents to ride some bikes. The kids love wearing their helmets. Alden still hasn't figured out this pedaling thing so it turned into basketball and soccer for him rather quickly!

He can Dribble pretty good. Remember kids: always wear your helmet when playing basketball with a 3 year old. If wondering his helmet is a duck, duck, goose Giro Me2 Infant Bike Helmet (See all Bike Helmets for Kids)

Sam got going fairly good and we went down the street some. Maybe by the end of the summer we can take off the training wheels.

Alden's New Bike

We got Alden a little bike with training wheels this spring! This was the first time he was able to try it out. We went to Grandma & Grandpa McKnight's house @ Copper Dollar Cove to ride them because our driveway is not exactly the best driveway for riding bikes. :) We took Clair's Exersaucer outside so she could watch them too! (Her hair got a little crazy, so we had to take a picture of it blowing in the wind. :) Samantha actually pedaled her bike and only had trouble with the tight turns - which is all SO MUCH better than last year. :) Alden didn't quite get the hang of the whole "pedaling" thing, but the did think he was pretty special on that bike! :)
