MOPS Henry Doorly Zoo Play Date

My MOPS group had a playdate at the Henry Doorly Zoo on September 19th.

Alden, JD, & Clair played on the Lions while we waited for the other moms to arrive!

JD, Alden, & Clair had a great time together!

Alaina has the cutes smile!
And Ashleigh (and Alaina!) are always so stylish!

We had 9 moms & 1 dad and LOTS of kids come to the playdate! Christie's husband Mike was very brave hanging out with all of us women! (Mike took the picture for us!)

Jayger, Alden, Grant, and Mikenna liked to run ahead of all of us! They had so much energy!

We hit the gorillas and then walked over the Petting Zoo. Grant & Mikenna liked the goats.

The kids always find this ball so much fun! They got very soaked this time!

JD & Alden are only a few weeks apart in age and are getting to be pretty good friends!

Alden keeps getting taller and taller and taller....

We had a fun day with our friends, but it was challenging keeping up with all the kids and making sure we didn't lose one or two! My kids slept the whole way home!

Here comes 2011

So the new year started with Grandma and Grandpa watching the trio overnight to allow Michelle and I to go out to eat and to a movie.

The morning of the 31st. Alden playing with some of his new toys.

New years day and Clair is enjoying riding in a dump truck. If she smelled like strawberries she would be a lot like Lots-o.

Jan 2 the kids had way to much fun with Dr. Drill-N-Fill.

Clair enjoyed Doug's new running hat. She would put it on and run around until she hit something. (someone should put pants on that kid)

RRRRRRRRRR.... Playing pirates with Caden.
I like the pink dog the best. Alden might be the only pirate with a trusty poodle.

A day of Moyer Fun!

The other day Drew and Emily Came by to play while their Mom packed for their trip to Hawaii. The four older kids entertain themselves quite well. Alden has that look all the time.

Zoo Trip with Mandy & Caden

Last Wednesday, we took a trip to the zoo with my friend Mandy and her son Caden. Samantha & Alden had a blast with Caden. We let them play on the Lion Statues right as you come in the gate to the zoo and Alden thought it was pretty cool to ride on a baby lion statue. :) Next, we did the butterfly pavilion and I tried not to look at the bugs and spiders in the next room. The giraffes were all outside that day and really close to us. We stood there for a long time watching one of them try to get a leaf off of its tongue! The Zebras were next and then we walked over the bridge with the spider monkeys on the island next to it, so of course the kids had to feed the fish some food before we could move it. The baby sea lion "Coco Pup" was out, so we stood there for along time watching it play on the slimy floor of exhibit and then it climbed up to it's mom on the rocks. We saw the gorillas and got to see the newest baby gorilla born at the zoo. I teased Alden that the gorilla came out of mommy's tummy and that was going to be his new sister! He didn't think too much of that! The baby gorilla was just as tiny as newborn baby! Then, Caden wanted to take us into the "Kingdom of the Night" with all the night living animals. That was kind of creepy and smelly, so we walked through it quickly. Samantha & Alden didn't care too much for it either! Then, we took a short break on a bench and watch Caden chase the peacocks. After that we drove to Fazoli's for lunch. It was a great play date for Samantha & Alden!

Sam's 1st Sleepover

Last Saturday night, Sam had her 1st sleepover. Sam's friend Alexa came over to play and then spent the night. We went out to Grandma & Papa McKnight's house to tell them the good news about the new baby, and brought them pizza. After playing out there for awhile, we came back to our house and the girls enjoyed playing dress up and playing with Sam's toys. Alden enjoyed playing with Alexa too, even if Sam got jealous! :) Both the girls slept in Sam's room downstairs. After about 1 1/2 hours of talking/getting up to go to the bathroom, they fell asleep and stayed asleep until I got them up at 7:30 the next morning to get ready for Sunday School. Sam & I took Alexa to Sunday School with us and then her mom was at our house to pick her up when we got back. Sam has already asked if Alexa can spend the night again....I told her "yep...someday"...mainly because I'm not quite ready for that just yet! :)
