Christmas Eve
We always celebrate Christmas Eve with my parents and my brother. This year, we celebrated Christmas for the 1st time at their new house in Nebraska City. They got a new tree and it actually "spins"! (Their old 12 foot tree wouldn't have fit into their new living room.) We drove down to Nebraska City early in the afternoon and I helped my dad and my brother wrap some presents before my mom cooked supper. My mom cooked a delicious supper of: Honey Baked Ham, Corn & Noodles, Mac & Cheese, & Apple Salad (in honor of my grandma Pearl because she always used to make it and bring it to Christmas Eve). After supper, we opened gifts and took some pictures in front of the spinning tree. From Uncle Chris: Samantha got a pink laptop computer to play on and a gift card to Target (with which she got a Barbie doll) and Alden got Jordan shoes and a singing cookie jar. From Grandma & Grandpa: Samantha's highlights were a HUGE doll house, Disney Princess Barbies, & Little People All Around Town Playset - with a doctor & dentist and Alden got a Go Baby Go toy that you can sit and play with balls or walk around it, race car toy & milk jug bowling set. Alden may have liked the doll house better than Samantha. He just kept walking over to the doll house and hitting it like he wanted it opened. (Check out Alden's tonuge in the picture with the dollhouse at the end- he is sticking it out just like the Ehmen side of the family). Alden was not in the mood for taking pictures, so what you see is what we got that night. He especially was tired of pictures by the time it was Uncle Chris's turn! And Samantha was just onery!
